History of 715

715 Mohawk Squadron was formed in 1961 under the command of Flight Lieutenant A.E. “Bunny” Brown. Flt/Lt Brown served as a pilot during World War II, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), one of the highest medals awarded by the Air Force.

Our original sponsor was the Optimist Club (later Optimist Club of Burlington). Currently our squadron is sponsored by the Mohawk Air Cadet Sponsoring Committee. The committee is composed completely of parents of cadets. They secure funding for our building and operating costs through bingos, and funding for other activities through other fundraisers.
